Following his scene-stealing roles in films like Precious, The Hunger Games and The Butler, Lenny Kravitz is getting back to music with new album Strut, but keeping things cinematic with his music video for lead single “The Chamber.” The video, directed by Anthony Mandler, won’t arrive in full until September 4. But just like at the movies, Idolator is premiering the trailer for “The Chamber” today.

Above, noir-ish scenes fly by featuring Kravitz walking the Paris streets at night only to be stalked by a mysterious car. Is the driver of the vehicle the same full-lipped femme fatale the shirtless rocker beds down with in other bits from the trailer? Oh, Lenny — your life is far too complicated!

Kravitz’s tenth studio album Strut is set for a September 23 release date. Watch the trailer for “The Chamber” music video above, and get ready for the visual to premiere in full on Septmeber 4.
